North Allegheny School District is a large, suburban public school district located in McCandless, Pennsylvania, about 12 miles (19 km) north of Pittsburgh. It was established in 1948 and serves an area of 48 square miles (120 km 2), including Marshall Township, McCandless Township, and the boroughs of Bradford Woods and Franklin Park.
Residents of the county voted in favor of funding the project in May 1965 and the first 15-member board of trustees was sworn in that December. The college opened Boyce Campus, in Monroeville, and Allegheny Campus, on Pittsburgh's North Side, in 1966. The following year, South Campus was opened; North Campus opened in 1972.
