Tri-C–Campus District station [3] is a station on the RTA Rapid Transit system in Cleveland, Ohio, serving the Red, Blue, and Green Lines. It is located just east of East 34th Street near the intersection of East 34th and Broadway, on the north side of the CSX railway tracks, and below the bridge that carries East 34th Street over the railway tracks.
RTA is also working with the City of Cleveland, the State of Ohio, and other passenger rail interests to create an Amtrak station near Hopkins Airport, which would serve as an intermodal airport hub similar to those in Newark, Baltimore, or Milwaukee.
The station opened on April 11, 1920, with the initiation of rail service by the Cleveland Interurban Railroad on what is now Van Aken Boulevard from Lynnfield Road to Shaker Square and then to East 34th Street and via surface streets to downtown.
The Windermere car shops were abandoned when RTA opened its new $23-million Central Rail Maintenance Facility opened on April 29, 1984, on a 20-acre (8.1 ha) site at East 55th Street. [4] The Hayden parking lot also closed as the additional parking was not needed and most passengers perceived use of the tunnel as a security risk.

The station opened on July 10, 1996, [2] when light rail service was extended 2.2 miles (3.5 km) from Tower City through The Flats and along the lakefront. This extension was designated the Waterfront Line, although it is actually an extension of the Blue and Green Lines, as trains leaving this station toward Tower City continue along the Blue or Green Line routes to Shaker Heights.
