In January 2022, WNBC announced plans to launch a new FAST channel called "NBC New York News"; this announcement follows the simultaneous rollout of streaming news channels from its sister stations in Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia and Boston on January 20. The channel was launched on March 17, 2022.
