John Nathan "Janno" Lieber (born September 19, 1961) [1] is the head of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in New York. He was appointed acting chair and CEO in July 2021 and confirmed permanently in January 2022.
It mainly focuses on improving transportation infrastructure and facilities in New York City, the Hudson Valley, and Long Island areas. Funding primarily comes from local, state, and national bond sales and budgets. [1] In 2017 Janno Lieber became MTA Capital Construction president; [2] in 2021 he was appointed Acting Chair of the MTA. [3]

As part of a pilot program by the MTA to make five bus routes free (one in each borough), the B60 was selected alongside the Bx18, M116, Q4 and S46/96 to become fare-free in July 2023.
