The Babylon station is a station on the Long Island Rail Road in the village of Babylon, New York at Railroad Avenue west of Deer Park Avenue (Suffolk CR 34).It is on the Montauk Branch and is the eastern terminus of the Babylon Branch service.
Although the station is located within New York City, it was not initially part of LIRR's CityTicket program—which provides discounted tickets for LIRR and Metro-North Railroad trips entirely within the city—as the line passes through Nassau County. [5] Residents and politicians had asked the MTA to include the station in the program.
On January 6, 2016, filings in Queens County Superior Court showed that MTA and the supermarket reached a settlement of $2,236,600, of which $1.9 million was the cash purchase price and the remainder represented rent to be paid by MTA on behalf of the supermarket at its new location. [6]

[6] [7] The MTA later proposed in their 20-year needs assessment for 2025 to 2044 that Sunnyside station serve both the LIRR and the Metro-North Railroad, with the latter providing service to Penn Station after Penn Station Access is completed.
