This template is for use on pages dealing with sign languages and sign-language related topics. Note that sign languages are not necessarily related to similarly-named languages associated with a nation or ethnic group. For example, French Sign Language is not related to French language, though both are associated with France.
The templates { { Birth year and age }} and { { Death year and age }} return a person's year of birth or death and their approximate age. The templates are useful when only the year, or year and month, of a person's birth and/or death are known, or if it is desired not to state a person's full dates of birth and death for privacy reasons.
This template exists principally as a placeholder for interwiki purposes. Legitimate use almost always involves automation. The vast majority of needed uses of this template are cases where {{lang- xx }} has values, possibly including en, inserted for xx automatically by software tools such as templates and bots.
