The station and its predecessors served railroad passengers in Columbus from 1851 until April 28, 1977. The first station building was the first union station in the world, built in 1851.
The Nostrand Avenue station is an elevated station on the Long Island Rail Road's Atlantic Branch in the Bedford–Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City. Trains leave every 12–15 minutes during peak hours and 30 minutes during off-peak hours until 11 p.m.
Although the station is located within New York City, it was not initially part of LIRR's CityTicket program—which provides discounted tickets for LIRR and Metro-North Railroad trips entirely within the city—as the line passes through Nassau County. Residents and politicians had asked the MTA to include the station in the program.
Westwood is a station on the Long Island Rail Road's West Hempstead Branch serving the villages of Malverne and Lynbrook, New York.The station platform is located on Foster Avenue in Malverne, with parking facilities on both the Malverne (Foster Avenue at Motley Street) and Lynbrook (Whitehall Street at Whittier Street) sides of the tracks.
History. Lawrence station was originally built by the South Side Railroad of Long Island on July 29, 1869, but never had a station building until June 29, 1872. The station was rebuilt in 1905, the same year that the line was electrified, and the original station house was moved to a private location on July 31, 1906.
