Route. The eastern terminus of the TRE route is Dallas Union Station on the west side of downtown Dallas. From there, the line runs northwest parallel to Interstate 35E, passing American Airlines Center and Dallas Market Center before turning west.

The line runs from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to northeastern Dallas, passing through Irving's Las Colinas neighborhood and Downtown Dallas in the interim. During weekday peak periods, the eastern segment of the line is extended further north to Richardson and Plano.
The Red Line then travels through north Dallas, Richardson and Plano. Most of the line runs at grade level with grade crossings, although portions of the route run on elevated viaducts. The line terminates at the Parker Road Station at Park Boulevard near Central Expressway in Collin County .
The Red Line goes through Oak Cliff, downtown, Uptown, North Dallas, Richardson and Plano. The Blue Line goes through South Dallas, downtown, Uptown, North Dallas, Garland, and Rowlett.
Route. The southern terminus of the line is currently at UNT Dallas in south Dallas at University Hills Blvd. just south of Camp Wisdom Rd. The line runs north, under the Dallas Convention Center and through downtown Dallas. After leaving Mockingbird, the line diverts to the northeast towards White Rock Lake.
