Robert Winton Mendenhall (born November 18, 1954) is an American educational technologist best known as the president from 1999 to 2016 of Western Governors University (WGU).
The 750 acres (3.0 km 2) campus is located 30 miles (48 km) south of Chicago, Illinois. GSU was founded in 1969. It is a public university offering degree programs at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels.
