The Volkswagen Golf (Mk7) is a C-segment car manufactured by German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen. It is the seventh generation in the Golf series and the successor to the Golf Mk6. It was introduced in Berlin on 4 September 2012, before a public launch at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. [5]
The GTE Mark 7 generation was powered by a 1.4-litre 110 kW (150 hp) TSI direct-injection gasoline engine combined with a 75 kW (101 hp) electric motor, powered by a 400 V 8.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, for a total hybrid system power of around 153 kW (204 hp).
The Volkswagen Golf (Mk8) (also known as the Golf VIII) is a compact car, the eighth generation of the Volkswagen Golf and the successor to the Volkswagen Golf Mk7. It was launched in Wolfsburg on 24 October 2019, and arrived in German showrooms in December 2019.
It features a slightly detuned version of the 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine from the Mk7 Golf GTI. It produced 200 PS (197 hp; 147 kW), an 8 PS (8 hp; 6 kW) increase over the previous 1.8-litre engine, and was capable of getting to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 6.7 seconds. Available transmissions are a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG.
Although billed as the Mk6, the new model was largely based on its predecessor, the Golf Mk5, and was effectively a re-engineered facelift of the previous model. In January 2013, it was superseded by the Volkswagen Golf Mk7, which was built on the newly assembled MQB platform .
The Volkswagen Golf Mk5 (codenamed Typ 1K) is a compact car / small family car manufactured and marketed by Volkswagen, as the fifth generation of the Golf in three- or five-door hatchback (August 2003–2008) and a five-door station wagon (2007–2009) configurations, as well as the successor to the Golf Mk4.
