Select Bus Service (SBS; stylized as +selectbus service) is a service provided by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA)'s Regional Bus Operations for limited-stop bus routes with some bus rapid transit features in New York City. The first SBS route was implemented in 2008 to improve speed and reliability on long, busy corridors.
X- routes are operated by New York City Transit, while QM- routes are operated by MTA Bus Company. All Midtown routes except for the QM2, QM5 and QM20 Super Expresses operate nonstop outbound via the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, while Downtown routes operate via the FDR Drive and the Queens Midtown Tunnel.

Avenue B and East Broadway Transit Company bus (M8) replaced Dry Dock, East Broadway and Battery Railroad's Grand Street Line streetcar on July 30, 1932. Operations taken over by Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority in 1980. In October 1987, the MTA Board approved plans to discontinue the route due to low ridership.
