Stebbins Hall is a student housing cooperative owned by Berkeley Student Cooperative (BSC) and located at 2527 Ridge Road in Berkeley, California, on the Northside of the University of California, Berkeley campus. [1]
Located in Berkeley's Southside neighborhood, the Lothlorien houses were built on land originally owned by the private College of California and named Berkeley in honor of Anglo-Irish Age of Enlightenment philosopher George Berkeley. In 1868 it became part of the newly formed and publicly funded University of California (UC Berkeley).
Students won a $91,000 grant from UC Berkeley's The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF). Campus officials referred students to a space once occupied by a nail salon, where they ultimately opened the store on November 15, 2010. Early supporters included Michael Pollan and the Berkeley Student Cooperative.
Morello-Frosch was born to immigrant parents Marta Eugenia Morello and Norbert Frosch.
