The New York City Transit Authority (also known as NYCTA, the TA, [2] or simply Transit, [3] and branded as MTA New York City Transit) is a public-benefit corporation in the U.S. state of New York that operates public transportation in New York City.
The MTA took over the operations of the old Baltimore Transit Company on April 30, 1970. [7] It was originally known as the Baltimore Metropolitan Transit Authority, then the Mass Transit Administration before it changed to its current name in October 2001.
NJT Bus Operations operates 253 bus routes using 2,221 buses.
