The following is a list and description of the local, express and commuter bus routes of the Maryland Transit Administration, which serve Baltimore and the surrounding suburban areas as of June 2017 following the Baltimore Link Launch. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 49,376,400, or about 167,700 per weekday as of the second quarter of 2024.
It provides seven fixed-routes and one free-fare circulator service to provide access between downtown Annapolis and its suburbs. The Maryland Transit Administration complements these routes, providing access to Baltimore via "local bus service" (Route 70 or Washington, D.C.) or Eastern Shore via "commuter bus lines" (Routes 922 & 950).
The Purple Line is a 16.2-mile (26.1 km) light rail line [3] being built to link several Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C.: Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park, and New Carrollton. [7]
Route 903 is a commuter bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in the U.S. state of Maryland and the District of Columbia between Charlotte Hall, Waldorf, Suitland, and downtown Washington, DC. The line is operated by Keller Transportation, Inc. under a service contract with MTA Maryland.
In February 2024, the Maryland Transit Administration announced that they had been awarded $213,696,341 in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration’s Rail Vehicle Replacement program to replace all 52 aging Light Rail vehicles in its fleet with new, modern railcars.
