The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority operates a number of bus routes in the Atlanta metro region. The main system operates in Fulton, DeKalb, and Clayton Counties, although some routes travel into other suburban counties. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 32,285,600, or about 103,400 per weekday as of the fourth quarter of 2023.
The line is one of the most heavily used routes, ranking 2nd in ridership as of 2023, and combined with it's limited-stop counterpart, the 79, make up the busiest transit corridor in the system.
