We use it for people who work from home for set up and maintenance. Provided you don't have a password for anydesk, there is no way for them to get in without your permission. If they do, provided its not on, there is still no way in. The only risk is if you have it set to auto start, walk away from your PC, and they have a password.
Anydesk is significantly more expensive, but nowhere near Teamviewer's pricing. We keep a few seats of Teamviewer for supporting users, although I know a few IT staff have used Anydesk for remote support. I believe better multi-monitor support is coming to Anydesk later this year. You can do it, now, but you can't drag and drop between them.

As soon as he said the words "Go to the play store and download Anydesk" I immediately called him out as a scammer. He did at least say "Then hang up the call with me" but I know from watching several scam videos what Anydesk is.
I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 23.04 (beta). I have set anydesk for background running. After successfully upgrading to the 23.04, I found a rectangular area nearer to the right upper corner repeatedly opening anydesk on the right click on it. While using other applications, there is no response to click on it.
I've been using AnyDesk regularly for a couple months now, and it's been working very well. I've been able to stream my desktop at home even in 4K with 'Best Audio/Video Quality' enabled with almost no latency, to the point where I could even play a slower paced game on the remote desktop. However, out of nowhere, the connection is now horrible.
