When emails go missing in AOL Mail, it's often due to a few simple things; either the message is in the wrong folder, your third-party mail client's settings, or your account was deactivated due to inactivity.
1. Click the Settings icon | select More Settings. 2. Click Notifications. 3. Under "New Mail," select your notification option: • Play a sound when new mail arrives - Default sound. • Play "You've Got Mail" when new mail arrives - Customize it with a celebrity voice. 4. Click Back to Inbox when done.
Select Mail Settings. On the general settings tab, in inbox setting click the radial button next to Use Unified Inbox Style. Click Save Settings at the bottom. You may need to sign out of the app and then sign back in to reset the app settings. This can be done by: Tap on the AOL icon in the upper right. Tap on Manage Accounts.
To access your AOL Mail account on these apps, you'll need to generate and use an app password. An app password is a randomly generated code that gives a non-AOL app permission to access your AOL account. You'll only need to provide this code once to sign in to your 3rd party email app.
Use Autofill to automatically fill in forms, usernames, and passwords on AOL. If you're using a mobile browser, contact your mobile device manufacturer for help with its Autofill settings. Verified for version 4.4 and later. 1. Open the Settings app. 2. Tap Apps. 3. Tap AOL. 4. Tap Force Stop. 5. If prompted, tap Force Stop again to confirm. 6. Relaunch the app and attempt to reproduce the issue.
Find your application's "Email Accounts" or "Account Settings" section, select your AOL Mail account, then update to your new password. If you've activated 2-step verification for your AOL account, you'll need to generate and use an "app password" to access AOL Mail from these apps.
If your Mail settings don't have Rich Text or HTML enabled, you could have problems with viewing images in forwarded emails. These settings can be enabled from the Mail Settings page. Send image as an attachment: If you've sent an image in an email, but your recipient didn't receive it there may have been a problem with the way the file was sent.
