MiCoST began its operation in 2006 with the Diploma in Pharmacy program in cooperation with MARA University of Technology (UiTM). Students are awarded diplomas by UiTM upon the completion of the three-year program. In 2010, MiCoST added diploma programs in Pharmacy, Human Resource Management, Office Management, Business Management, Accountancy.
INTEC is one of the preparatory colleges in MARA University of Technology (UiTM). Due to its location in Seksyen 17, Shah Alam, it is also known to some people as UiTM Seksyen 17. Despite the bumiputra -only admission policy of UiTM, INTEC admits non- bumiputra sponsored students.
It was established in 1974 at Kangar, making it as the third oldest UiTM campus in the whole country. In 1980, the campus moved to their permanent location in Arau. Now, UiTM Perlis is the largest branch campus around the country, by the number of student and also the total courses offered.
