Sixty-five percent of CSUDH students engage in service learning, both through the formal curriculum and the university's service learning hub, the Center for Service Learning, Internships & Civic Engagement (SLICE).
Andrew Furco (born April 17, 1961) is an American scholar, researcher, and educator in the field of experiential education, whose work has focused primarily on advancing research in service learning. In addition to CSO programs, CSUPD departments each have a Communications Division, which is the police dispatch center and the 9-1-1 access point for each CSU campus. Each department also staffs a Detective Division to investigate crimes and other cases reported by citizens and the patrol officers.
