MYmta. MYmta is a mobile application -based passenger information display system developed by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) of New York City. A beta version of the app was launched on July 2, 2018, and as of June 2019 is still undergoing beta testing.
The fleet consists of over 5,700 buses of various types and models for fixed-route service, making MTA RBO's fleet the largest public bus fleet in the United States. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) said its new MTA app is available for download. The app is still in Beta testing, but will eventually succeed the MYmta app.
The MTA is currently testing another service, MYAAR, that will let paratransit users schedule a ride, track the vehicle's location and provide feedback within the MYmta app.
In future versions of the MYmta app, the MTA planned to integrate the eTix functionality, as well as make it easier for Access-A-Ride customers to view when their vehicle will arrive at a certain point. In October 2020, the MTA unveiled a new digital map providing real-time arrival estimates and service updates.
The MTA is preparing to test a program that will let people in its Access-A-Ride program hail a taxi from their smartphones, the agency announced Wednesday.
In conjunction with the app, MATA started offering free WiFi on vehicles starting in December 2019. On August 21, 2023 MATA launched the GO901 Smart Card, which are able to be refilled on the app or at kiosks and service counters at MATA's transit centers.
The new alerts are just the latest effort to improve communication under NYC Transit President Andy Byford. They will be used on the myMTA app and the MTA's revamped website, new.mta.info.
