American International Group, Inc. (AIG) is an American multinational finance and insurance corporation with operations in more than 80 countries and jurisdictions. As of 2023, AIG employed 25,200 people. The company operates through three core businesses: general insurance, life & retirement, and a standalone technology-enabled subsidiary.
Duperreault's entire career has been in the insurance industry, beginning in 1973 as an actuary at AIG. He quickly rose through the ranks to become one of AIG's most senior executives, eventually heading all of AIG's international operations.
Career. In 1962, Greenberg was named by AIG's founder, Cornelius Vander Starr, as the head of AIG's North American holdings after working for Continental Casualty Company, a unit of CNA in Chicago. In 1968 Starr picked Greenberg as his successor.
On 1 January 2020, Zaffino was promoted to president of AIG and continued as global COO. On March 1, 2021, he became AIG's CEO. Later that year, Zaffino was appointed chairman of the AIG board of directors, effective January 1, 2022. Prior to joining AIG, he was with Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) for 16 years.

Career Early career and AIG. In 1975, Greenberg started working in insurance, initially working for New Hampshire Insurance Co. in its automobile policies department. He began working for AIG later that year as an underwriter. During the 25 years he worked for AIG, Greenberg held a number of senior management positions.
