Central Pacific Bank. Central Pacific Bank is an American regional commercial bank headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was founded by Koichi Iida, a Honolulu business leader, with assistance from Sumitomo Bank in Japan. Mr. Iida was President from 1954 to 1960. Iida was born on May 20, 1888, in Osaka, son of Matsukichi Iida, who moved to Honolulu in 1895. [ 1] In 1906 Koichi Iida graduated from Osaka Commercial School.
