LaGuardia Houses was completed July 31, 1957 and the nine buildings were designed by Hyman Isaac Feldman. [3] [8] LaGuardia Houses Addition was completed in 1965 and was designed by Emanuel Turano.
In 1919, the City College School of Business and Civic Administration was established and would later become Baruch College. In 1951, the Department of Political Science in the school offered its first course in Masters in Public Administration.

City Tech was founded in 1946 as The New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences.The urgent mission at the time was to provide training to GIs returning from the Second World War and to provide New York with the technically proficient workforce it would need to thrive in the emerging post-war economy.

1978 - The CUNYAC was founded as the CUNY Athletic Directions Association (CUNYADA). Charter members included Baruch College, Brooklyn College, the City College of New York (CCNY), Hunter College, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Lehman College, Medgar Evers College, Queens College, the College of Staten Island and York College, effective beginning the 1978–79 academic year.
