George Henson Page (March 31, 1935 – June 28, 2006) was an American journalist and television host, who was known for his love of nature and his unique and mellifluous voice. He created the PBS series Nature , hosting and narrating it from its beginning in 1982 until his retirement in 1998.
It is a weekly one-hour program that consists of documentaries about various animals and ecosystems. The on-camera host of the first season was Donald Johanson, with voice-over narration by George Page. Starting with the 1983 season, Page became both the on-camera host and the narrator until the series' 19th season in 2000.

The George C. Page Museum of La Brea Discoveries, part of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, was built next to the tar pits in Hancock Park on Wilshire Boulevard. It was named for a local philanthropist. Construction began in 1975, and the museum opened to the public in 1977. [20]
