Route 52 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line is a dedicated service for employees of Stella Maris, a complex of long term care facilities in Timonium, Maryland. Route 52 replaced Route 12 under BaltimoreLink.
Routes 63 and 64 overlapped for much of the route within the city. The Route 63 bus that was formed in 1977 was not the first. A new bus route designated Route X, the highest lettered route in Baltimore transit history, started operating in 1946. It was renamed to Route 63 in 1948. This route operated until 1951, when it was absorbed into Route 6.
When the revamped BaltimoreLink bus system began operating, the 46 went out of service. Its alignment has been replaced with the CityLink Purple and Pink. QuickLink 40 is a limited stop bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. Formerly the Quickbus 40, the line was discontinued in June 2017 as part of the BaltimoreLink system rebranding along with the other "Quickbus" limited-stop routes.
The only other bus route in Baltimore transit history that had the no. 59 designation was the Colgate Shuttle, a service that operated during rush hour from 1948 to 1952. [2] But the Reisterstown Road corridor between Pikesville and Owings Mills has a history of being served by many other bus routes and streetcar lines.
