200 Clarendon Street, previously John Hancock Tower and colloquially known as The Hancock, is a 60-story, 790-foot (240 m) skyscraper in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston. It is the tallest building in New England. The tower was designed by Henry N. Cobb of the firm I. M. Pei & Partners and was completed in 1976.
In height, it is tied with Harbor Towers I as the 37th-tallest building in Boston. The building was the first development in Boston of the New York–based real estate firm Rose Associates, led by Daniel Rose, who went on to develop One Financial Center and Boston Wharf.
On top of the building sits the Vancouver Harbour Control Tower, which is responsible for guiding the floatplanes that take off and land on the Burrard Inlet. At 142 metres high, it was the tallest air traffic control tower in the world as of 2019.
