Box 20 on w-2's in New York state (Locality name) says PFL, but that's not accepted by NY Dept. of Taxation and Finance? What can I do? And for clarity, boxes 18 and 19 do have info, but 20 says PFL even though it should be blank.

Yes, you may select New York as the associated state and then from the dropdown box for the Locality name, select New York City. Report all wages and taxes in boxes 18 and 19. When done this way, the NYC taxes withheld on your W-2 should be applied to your New York income tax return. @lindabdb

"NYC" for New York City and "YON" for Yonkers are in the acceptable list.
