Cambridge University. Cambridge University Cricket Club, established in 1820, is the representative cricket club for students of the University of Cambridge. Depending on the circumstances of each individual match, the club has always been recognised as holding first-class status. The university played List A cricket in 1972 and 1974 only. [1]
These teams include students from Anglia Ruskin University, as well as Cambridge University, and play in three-day first-class matches as well as in the UCCE/MCCU Championship, the British Universities & Colleges Sport National League one day competition and, in recent years, an inter-MCCU T20 competition.

The UCCE side continued until the 2009 season, when the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) took over funding from the England and Wales Cricket Board, at which point it was renamed Durham MCCU. MCC funding came to an end in July 2020, although no matches were played in the 2020 season due to the restrictions put in place during the Coronavirus outbreak.
