The Mindanao State University (commonly referred to as MSU; Filipino: Pamantasang Pampamahalaan ng Mindanao) is a state university system in the city of Marawi, Philippines. It is the first state university in Mindanao , Philippines , established through Republic Act 1387 (as amended).

North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU), formerly known as Surigao del Sur State University, is a state university system located in the province of Surigao del Sur. Its main campus is located in Tandag, with additional sites in Bislig, Tagbina, Lianga, Cagwait, San Miguel, and Cantilan.
RA 4626 formalized NMIT as a vocational school offering elementary, secondary general, secondary vocational and normal courses of instruction and also collegiate, agricultural, and industrial courses leading to bachelor labor.
