The New York State Fair, also known as the Great New York State Fair, is a 13-day showcase of agriculture, entertainment, education, and technology.With midway rides, concessionaires, exhibits, and concerts, it has become New York's largest annual event and an end-of-summer tradition for hundreds of thousands of families from all corners of the state.
The fair ran for two six-month seasons, April 22 – October 18, 1964, and April 21 – October 17, 1965. Admission price for adults (13 and older) was $2.00 in 1964 (equivalent to $19.65 in 2023). Admission in 1965 increased to $2.50 (equivalent to $24.17 in 2023).
If you buy your tickets at the entry gates of the fair, the ticket prices are: Adults (ages 13 to 64): $13 per ticket. Military adult (ages 13 to 64): $8 per ticket.
