William Stubbs HonFRSE (21 June 1825 – 22 April 1901) was an English historian and Anglican bishop. He was Regius Professor of Modern History at the University of Oxford between 1866 and 1884. He was Bishop of Chester from 1884 to 1889 and Bishop of Oxford from 1889 to 1901. [2]
Stubbs was born in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania. He had his schooling in Winchester, Virginia. [3] He got baptised on April 1, 1962 in Charlestown, West Virginia. [4] Stubbs had a call to serve God and enrolled at the Central Bible College, [5] Springfield, Missouri obtained a bachelor's degree graduating in 1968. [6]
